  • 3/4 cup sourdough discard (or active starter)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; whisk well.
  4. Add honey, melted butter, water, and sourdough discard; stir until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough for about five minutes until smooth.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll tightly from one long side to form a log; slice into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place in a lined baking dish and bake for 25–35 minutes until golden brown.
