Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 2 large eggs (for cheesecake layer)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce, warmed
  • 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 12 maraschino cherries with stems
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the brownie base by mixing melted butter with sugars until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients and mix into wet until just combined. Pour into a greased springform pan.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely.
  4. For the cheesecake layer, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, then eggs one at a time followed by sour cream and vanilla.
  5. Pour cheesecake mixture over the cooled brownie base and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for an additional 50-60 minutes or until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool in the oven for an hour before refrigerating for at least five hours.
  7. Serve chilled with warm hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, and toppings.
