  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • Soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce
  • Garlic and ginger for flavor
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef: Combine sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a bowl. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and water or beef broth until smooth.
  3. Cook the beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add marinated beef in a single layer and cook until browned (2–3 minutes per side). Remove from skillet.
  4. Stir-fry vegetables: Add remaining oil to the skillet, stir-fry bell peppers and onion until tender-crisp (3–4 minutes). Add minced garlic and ginger; cook for another 30 seconds.
  5. Combine: Return beef to skillet; pour in prepared sauce and stir well. Cook until sauce thickens slightly (2–3 minutes).
  6. Serve hot: Garnish with chopped green onions before serving over steamed rice or noodles.
