- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 4 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until blended. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- For the mousse, melt the semisweet chocolate with milk in a double boiler or microwave until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form and gently fold in the melted chocolate until fully integrated.
- Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least three hours before serving.
