Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • All-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 12 tablespoons Dijon mustard (to taste)
  • 12 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream

Instructions

  1. Season chicken pieces with garlic powder, salt, and pepper; dredge in flour.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and butter; sauté mushrooms and onions until browned, about 6–8 minutes.
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic; cook for an additional minute.
  5. Add chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet. Return chicken to skillet and simmer for about 2 minutes.
  6. Off heat, stir in sour cream until well combined; adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Serve immediately over egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.
